In other news, my life is going well, even if I've been weirdly sensitive the past couple weeks. Work kinda blows but whatever. I'm tired, and so few people update LJ these days. Hate it.

I know! They're so common now, it's weird to me that people would still comment on them. My boyfriend has snake bites and spider bites, and a nose ring. He worked at a grocery store for 7 years and would get a lot of rude comments, stares, and "come to Jesus" brochures like every week. It was so weird! I worked at an amusement park for 4 summers and I would have to cover all my tattoos, males weren't allowed to have any piercings, and females were allowed one piercing in each ear. WTF?!!! In my field, the worst that can happen is a client bitching if they didn't like my tattoos/piercing, which has not happened yet. I guess if a client reported something of mine was offensive, I'd probably take measures to cover up when I see that particular person, but otherwise... having piercings or tattoos actually ADDS to my humanity with clients and makes me more real or normal in their eyes (I work with people who have severe and persistent mental illness).

As for jobs, I usually don't stay long in them either XDDD I totally feel your pain! The longest I've had is a year and 8 months, and even then I switched locations to go from PT to FT after a year! Otherwise it's like 4-8 months usually. A few entries back I think I mentioned feeling stagnant and the "job switch itch" in my current job. My ultimate goal is to make it two years - twice the average length of stay in my job position. It's a "job my degree applies to" so I'm trying to build experience. I've been in mental health for about 5 years, with varying things like being a CNA and working with children with Autism inbetween, but none of them required degrees so I don't really count them (I mean, you need certification for CNA, but I don't count it).

Phew! I'm done telling my life story nao.... ///
