Kitty update
Apr. 10th, 2011 11:51 amThe cats are definitely more energetic this week. I'd like to think that it is in part to spending a bajillion dollars on food that has no fillers (though I still can't find any that don't have vegetables without spending an even higher crapton of money). I still allow them to eat some dry food that is not in my Approved List of Healthy Foods, because I simply can't afford to spend as much on their food as I do on my own. But either way, they are eating at least 50% healthier, and I think it's showing. Cats are supposed to lose weight very slowly in comparison to humans, so I'd have to measure them on the scale every couple of days to see if their weight has dropped by any tenths of a pound. I don't care THAT much, but I'm hoping that they slim down a bit over the next few months. They wrestle multiple times a day now (rare previous), are super vocal, and Grim LOVES the mice he tore from the cat tower.

Grimmy and the mice BEFORE tearing them off XD

Cute pause while playing with the mouse.
They still meow a lot starting around 3 or 4am. They were never interested in meowing at the outdoors before, but now they love it. I took a super cute video of Grim playing with the mouse, but I'm having trouble getting it online seeing as I've never tried to get videos from my phone onto the internet. I'll post it later if I can!
Now I gotta eat something and get to unpacking stuffs!

Date: 2011-04-13 05:41 pm (UTC)I found that if I put the wet food on a human plate, they'll eat it :P I feed them wet food in the morning, and dry food in the evening. They're still learning to accept that their bowls (and plate!) will no longer always be full!!
I agree XD Grim was being soooo cute that day! As you can see, he's kinda too big for the cat tower @_@ And if HE'S kinda too big for something, Nero DEFINITELY is! XD

Date: 2011-04-13 05:57 pm (UTC)Yeah--we're trying to get our kittens to eat this organic food, and while Dante has accepted it as the inevitable, Loki still believes that if he doesn't eat it, then we'll replace it with someone better, or that he's content enough munching on dry food. It's meant that I've had to fill up their dry food less so Loki doesn't fill up on it alone, and gets more used to the new food. He used to be one who was less picky--but I guess he really doesn't like this food. =( Too bad for him though--it's much better for him. EAT YOUR VEGETABLES KID! ...OR STARVE!!!! BWHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Oh, Nero. XD That's like our Dante, who is just a bigger cat than Loki. It's pretty funny how they do things sometimes though. They both love trying to get to the top of their scratching post. And they both will climb up it (like a funky tree) to retrieve toys that are put up there. Silly kittens.

Date: 2011-04-13 08:00 pm (UTC)At least Dante accepts the food! ^_^ It's nice when you get at least ONE on board. Nero loves all food, while Grim loves all PEOPLE food. And naughty kitty junk food. Uhhh, he MIGHT be spoiled /// What I feed them now (can't remember the brand name, just the can label) has vegetables and meat or fish, and no fillers. I figure that even though cats are carnivores and don't really benefit from vegetables, it hurts them far less than Mystery Ingredients and other poisons! The dry food is just whatever - I just make sure that the bad stuff (corn, by-products, wheat/gluten, "-meals") is at least three ingredients down, and the first ingredient is meat.
KITTENNNNNNSUUUUHHHH! So great!!!
