I think I saw someone on Neopets with the username vixen_of_fire or something, and I, being a shameless 14-year-old, altered it to my own Neopets username. For awhile then I used vixenofflames for everything - AIM, Email, and oh! LiveJournal. I also went by "Vixie" on XBox live and other online sites. Because, you know, I was hawt.

I'll probably pay to change it in the future, as I am no longer a silly teenager ^_^

Haha--like other people who have been online since I was 13, I've had my handle silver_tiamat for quite awhile. But, I started off as super_saiyan_gurl on a forum site. Then, when I went to a chat site based around Sailor Moon, I kept the name...until I saw someone with a name like silverdragon or silvertiger, and I went AW MAN! I SHOULDA DONE SOMETHING THAT COOL! That's where the_silver_dragon was born (oh, yes, I am a master of disguise, I am). About half a year later though, I'd already realized that I needed more out of the name, so I put to use the mythology that I know, and came up with silve_tiamat. =D (As a side note, I ended up needing another handle for a different e-mail when I signed up for yahoo, and in order to bypass the need to do something yet again with silver and dragons, I decided on my_golden_tiger XD Yup.)

I wouldn't change it though. I don't think vixenofflames is that immature sounding at all. I mean, heck, you coulda ended up with something like supah_saiyajin_gal and be really sad. XD

-My other LJ (which I used for a short period to record explicit exploits for people here on LJ to read - mostly made for Suzi and a couple others who wanted the dirty details) is ran_shao, after the dragon masters on ATLA ^_^
-The Neopets username I ended up sticking with was myoldonesfrozen (http://www.neopets.com/userlookup.phtml?user=myoldonesfrozen), in protest because Neopets wrongly froze my previous AMAZING account (and had no way to reverse it), citing that there were multiple accounts linked to my computer. Uhhh yeah. I have siblings. Thanks though. Neopets has totally sold out anyway.
-My username on Backloggery is kohaku
-Now I'm in an "akemi" kick. It's my Xbox/PS3 handle, and I have variations everywhere - akemi00 as my email, and I use akemichan/akemichama and variations with underscores.

Hahaha! I had thought about, when I was like 18-19, that maybe I should think about changing my usernames about....but, then I realized that they're kinda like phonenumbers. The more I change it, the less recognizable I get. And, really, I'm happy with silver_tiamat. Right now, it's my most often used handle (or without the underscore as silvertiamat in some places), and the only time I don't use it is for my Serious G-mail account as athenapalls87. But, I like things that I can change easily--like my "name" on MSN messenger...it's never my name. XD Right now I think it's "If I Died Today I'd Be The Happy Phantom" from "Happy Phantom" by Tori Amos. It's almost always a song lyric, but sometimes it's something funny I've read. OR, like here on LJ, I like the ability to "name" the journal.

But, I think part of that stems from the fact that I've always found usernames somewhat....too restrictive. =/

They are pretty resctrictive, but I guess I'm used to them from Pokemon and WoW and whatnot as names, and I think it's fun to think of names! I suppose I change mine so often because I feel like each defines a certain period of my life, and what kind of person I was at the time.

I used to like putting lyrics as my Facebook statuses a lot ^_^

I think it's fun to think of names, but...like, Real Names, rather than usernames. =/ I usually don't try to rename myself. But, again....that may be in part because I don't really go through vastly life-altering circumstances that are reflected in my handles online. So, I guess I miss out on the fun of changing up the usernames. =/
