Rest and bento

Hello LJ land. I am still sick, only not exactly. My throat no longer hurts and most of my nasal congestion is gone, but it's like... hiding or laying in wait, looking for the perfect opportunity to pounce again!
 

That and I got Steve sick, which is inevitable. He contracts everything. I have been home 19 hours, and we have slept for 13, getting up for a few hours to eat Panera soup and purchase Netflix (squeeee!). We are a couple of sad pandas!!

Also, new bento for me! It's much more my size and so cute!


It's small and compact like I expected, but much cuter than I had imagined!

Here are all the pieces! It's 2-tiered, so there's a bottom compartment, and then an upper compartment with a tupperware top, and then the cover! The cover was much nicer than I had expected, too bad I couldn't get a better picture of it.

Oh noes sickness prevails! As a fellow sufferer of I Contract Everything, though I prefer to think of myself as simply an Illness Connoisseur. I sample many of the flavors of bacteria and viruses. u_u

I'm of the jealous! You got one of the bentos I've been eyeing for many a moon now. D= Owls -> Athena -> Must Own Bento. It should be a good size for you (given that it's a good size for me), but make sure that especially at first, you're packing in that rice, or you'll be hungry afterwards. And eat SLOW. As slow as you can. At first, as you adjust to the better portion, you're going to end with something like a feeling of "Okay, that a was a great snack! Now, where's lunch? =D" instead of "Yay!" But, that's where you make sure that you really pack in the food, which is what bento is all about. =D

PS--Don't microwave the little thin bit of plastic. It warps super easily. D=

Ahaha I like your attitude about sickness XD

We spent so much time looking through the anime section!!! Only I was sad there was so much Bleach and so much not everything else. But! We have a ton of movies on queue now, yayyy!

I got the bento for REALLY cheap on Amazon when I was on there buying some sauce containers - I needed to add something to the order because I didn't feel good buying $1.50 worth of sauce and paying $7 in shipping @_@ I think it was on sale for $7, and I'd been looking at that one and the rabbit one for a looong time. It was quite exciting. I get to use it tonight! Which reminds me, trip to Asian market today, woo <3 Thanks for the advice, I was wondering how I was going to pack it!

I know which rabbit one you're talking about! XD I've had my eye on it for ages now.

Oh, and another small tip, if you haven't done this type of bento before, make sure you don't use cups to separate the food on the bottom unless they're very small, or you're very determined to cram things in to it, because at that size sacrificing bits of space for cups means you're cutting out 50-100 possible calories. This is where you can really get creative in packing things carefully and close together. Or! Get another container and add it to your bento! XD

I did use a silicone cupcake cup for each tier, because I was including sweet peppers and onions and they're greasy and leak and whatnot. Here's (https://www.t-mobilepictures.com/myalbum/photos/photo21/ba/ab/f51c2c7e1bd1__1286149869000.jpeg) what it looked like tonight, minus grapes because I had already eaten them ^_^ It's peppers and onion, rice, egg tamagoyaki, and a dessert mochi thing (there were 2 but I had eaten one!)!

I LOVE that userpic hahaha! I like the rabbit one, but the owl one is more my style - brown with gold, and owls are soooo win. <3

Waaaa! I really need to post pictures of mine. But, yes, I definitely agree to use silicone cups when greasy. Is disaster otherwise. Leaking everywhere. The only other option is to pair it with the rice section, where it'll soak up the grease in a possibly pleasant way.

I know! =D I've used this userpic before for the same tag, but I just like it. Too bad I don't like the manga it comes from (though the anime is fine, because it doesn't get into the bizarro metaphysical bullshit). Plus, it's a weird thing for CLAMP to do. You know that one anime I recommended? Cardcaptor Sakura? They did an A/U of the main characters of that, Sakura and Shaoran, and pretty much every other character from every other anime they ever did. It was like a strange fan service, but the story just went way outta whack. D= Tsubasa Resevoir Chronicle. Great music in the anime though. =/

You should! It helps that I always have my phone on me, and even though it always takes slightly blurry/vaseline-covering-the-lens-looking pics, it gets the job done! And it posts the pics to tmobile in a matter of seconds, so as long as I have the subject I want a picture of, I can usually post about it ^_^ and since I'm so detail-oriented, having a visual to accompany descriptions is very useful!

hahaha anime can be soo weird! I still might check it out if I get the time! And we'll prob watch cardcaptor Sakura at some point!
