Day 8: A photo that makes you laugh:

Oh my god. This one was SO easy. This picture is from 2004, my cousin Haley on the left and my sister Bethany on the right. Holy crap they changed a lot in 7 years. This was at the Minnesota State Fair, though I'm not sure what ride it was on, because I haven't been there in over a decade.
This picture cracks me up because I remember Bethany as a kid with rides. She was TERRIFIED. She cried, she screamed, she panicked. It was soooooo funny! Her fear in this picture is genuine, even if her younger cousin is laughing at her. I have no idea why she exposed herself to such things if she was going to basically have a heart attack. She's never been good with rides. As an older teen she got much better, and then finally had the opportunity to laugh at someone else - our brother August. We shared so many gut-splitting laughing fits over August's terror after she grew out of her scaredy-catness.
The first time she went on the Power Tower at Valleyfair (you know the type of ride - brings you up super slowly to a high height, holds you there for a few seconds, then drops you), we were going to sit four across. She wanted the order to be Dad, her, Mom, me - so that she could be "safer" between my parents. Neither of my parents knew what they were in for - Dad was just saying the other day how he was so "mad" at me for a long time because I always tricked them into the scariest rides. What can I say? I love a good thrill ride. Anyway, she ended up having to sit by me so my parents could sit next to each other, and she bawled the entire way up, gave hyperventilation-themed sobs at the top, and screamed all the way down. Me? I watched her and laughed hysterically.
Because I'm the best sister.
