NEW BENTOOOOO

I was super excited to open my new bento. I had to get a new one, because my old one cracked. I also wanted a rectangular bento, for ease of food-placing.
I ordered it at the beginning of January, so it was max anticipation because Japan cares a LOT about the New Year and therefore wouldn't be shipping right away. 's all g!
The lighting in my room sucks, be warned.
First, it came in JAPANESE NEWSPAPER OMG.

This was the side I was greeted with ^_^ It was cute because the bento was wrapped very carefully in bubble wrap, but the awesome newspaper just added charm. It didn't make it into the shot, but there's a Naruto pic on there, of course ;)

As you can see, it's not very tall. It's small and compact.

Everything inside is movable and removable! The little sushi tray is impossibly cute, with each section only about an inch. Looks like now I just might have to learn to make sushi! I DO have sushi rice (YUM) and Nori (Steve loves it with soy sauce in tamagoyaki - Asian-style omelet)

I tried really hard to capture the shimmer the design has. It's sooo pretty. I don't think you can really tell in the pic, but the pink has a gold outline too.
But wait! It even came with a strap and carrying pouch (Kinchaku)!

I love it. It feels very "me." I'm so happy to be able to make actual bentos now, instead of using tupperware. It's just not the same!
