I personally was able to follow the professor, but many of my peers were people who were RETURNING to school, and having been out of the loop for however many years, they couldn't keep up. And many are TERRIFIED of failing or doing badly and two in that class alone would threaten TEARS if they got less than an A on a paper, and she graded harshly. The part that pissed me off most about that, besides my classmates giving themselves ulcers, was that she would be talking about these assignments, reminding us in her most condescending voice not to wait until the last minute. As if this were a 100-level class vs a 400-level class. HAAAAATEEEE.
Exactly. Even though we only had 15 people in the class, there were several who apologized for their nervousness and looked like they might cry or pass out. So having the professor CORRECT her in front of the entire class in her bitchy voice was just mean. She could have just quietly written down that the woman was "wrong" on her EVALUATION, not shamed her in front of the whole class. Jeez.
