Haha--you know, I always had a hard time with the Harry Potter classification. On one hand, I really would fit in with Ravenclaw. Intelligence, creativity, wit, and logic. But...I've never been the type to value stuff like grades, or school scores. And though I do identify myself as a problem-solver, I feel even stronger my pull towards being the Anti-Bully. I always felt that I could have been in Slytherin...but I would have been so against many things. (Malfoy would have been whipped into shape, that's for damn sure.)
But, I stopped reading JK Rowling by the first 200 pages of the 6th book. She's a terrible writer when it comes to having real characters. I'll never forgive her for the Ultimate Villain scenario. I would have been much happier if she'd made someone like Snape her villain--someone we can almost like, or respect, even if we hate him (though I always thought he was a terribly misunderstood character, and then HAH! TAKE THAT SNAPE HATERS! HE'S THE REAL HERO!). Plus, I could no longer reconcile her ridiculous world with the "darkness" she tried to throw in there. You can't have things with goofy names, Hufflepuff and Dumbledore and Hogwarts (though gotta respect a lady for paying tribute to Labyrinth), and then go from a fun filled, comedic adventure to some sort of dark tale of doom and destruction with the Perfect Villain. At that point, it's crap. Plus, I saw through her writing like woah.
BUT! ENOUGH ABOUT THAT!
That sounds like an awesome birthday! And I'm envious of your first gift--one decision! Brian and I are also terrible at deciding where to eat or where to go or even what to do sometimes. It'd be great to get a coupon for that...though...several coupons would be best...
I love treasure hunts! =D I bet it was a lot of fun! =D
PS--I've actually heard of that manga!! I was really sad about trying to read it knowing that the mangaka died. =( It's almost as bad as another manga where the mangaka died--she was moving to a new place since she could afford it with her stories selling so well, and during the moving she had some sort of accident and died. D= So awful....uh. Er. I mean, uh, YAY BIRTHDAY HAPPINESS! *throws confetti to distract and amaze*
